The poems in this collection, Song of the Pelican, are extremely well crafted. There is intensity in the interrelationship between the poet and witer work, and the dimensions of intellect and emotion are carefully balanced against each other. Most of the poems are ballads. Some utilise the technique of a limited omniscient authorial point of view, together with the interaction of various people to convey the poet’s moral intentions.
